Development: On 11 January the local media reported that over 100 supporters of Guy Philippe, a former coup leader and senator-elect for Grand'Anse region, took to the streets in Jérémie commune, Grand'Anse, calling for his release after his arrest last week in Haiti on drug-related charges and transfer to the custody of US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents.
