Counting the dead of Paraguay’s EPP insurgency

Since what is now known as the Ejército del Pueblo Paraguayo (EPP) insurgent guerrilla group began to operate as the armed wing of the Partido Patria Libre (PPL) it has claimed, in ambushes, raids and clashes, 19 lives of members of the security forces — and lost 15 of its own members. Armed actions were sporadic for most of that period: the bulk of the fatalities were recorded in the last five years.
