Mexico: Sonora governor drops incendiary demands

Development: On 12 September Guillermo Padrés Elías, the governor of Sonora, dropped his demand for the replacement of the federal delegates that sat on the state’s emergency response committee (COE) dealing with the toxic spill at the Buenavista del Cobre copper mine, and promised to re-establish dialogue with the federal government.
